Our first big craft show - Market Days 2010 in Tallahassee, Florida!!

I am very excited to announce that 9. bottles jewelry was accepted as a vendor into one of the top juried art events in the South - Market Days! :)

This is especially exciting since I have been attending the show since I was a child and it is one of my favorite events of the year!

Recently, The Southeast Tourism Society, covering 13 states, named Market Days a "Top 20" event for December. This is great recognition from a renowned tourism organization, elevating Market Days to even higher heights and boding well for an outstanding show in 2010!

Market Days is a major fund-raiser for the Tallahassee Museum, the capital city’s oldest museum, promoting conservation of regional history, culture and wildlife for over 50 years.

Market Days 2010 will be held on the first weekend of December––Saturday and Sunday, December 4 and 5––from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the North Florida Fairgrounds, 441 Paul Russell Road in Tallahassee.

The show draws an enthusiastic crowd of 15,000 on average, including thousands who return year after year.

Filling six of the large fairgrounds' buildings, as well as outdoor plazas and medians, Market Days offers a wonderful array of works in various price ranges, from breathtaking fine art to charming stocking stuffers. The works include fine arts, ceramics, country furniture, stained glass, woodwork, glasswork, dolls, clocks, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, metalwork, clothing, photography and calligraphy. The event also dishes up a wide selection of mouth-watering foods and refreshments. Market Days offers great values on original gifts to meet all holiday shopping needs. The exceptional quality of the arts and crafts is ensured through a jury process that selects approximately 320 applicants from over 500 applications received nationwide.

LOVE is in the street....

An urban expression of LOVE.

Instead of cute flying cupids and idealistic big red hearts, I took a spin on that good old holiday that we either hate or LOVE - Valentine's Day.

The new collection is inspired by street art, super graphics, & faded textures reminiscent of life in the city - buildings, sidewalks, concrete.

Check out some of the new pieces such as the LOVE STAMP necklace... Inspired from Robert Indiana's iconic sculpture LOVE in Love Park, Philadelphia.

*LOVE Park is mixed-use urban space and a celebrated venue for Street Skateboarding, a popular form of the sport that uses natural urban features, rather than manufactured ramps.

LOVE was first created for a Christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art in 1964 and later was included on an eight-cent United States Postal Service postage stamp in 1973, the first of their regular series of "love stamps." Sculptural versions of the image have been installed at numerous American and international locations. In 1977 he created a Hebrew version with the four letter word Ahava (אהבה "love" in Hebrew) using Cor-ten steel, for the Israel Museum Art Garden in Jerusalem, Israel.

Brass base plate with hand stamped letters. Oxidized sterling silver chain.
